Our brand is founded on a message that resonates deeply within our hearts and minds. The concept of Tawakkul is a teaching that brings us closer to Allah by way of faith and determination. Prophet Muhammed [s] said, “If only you relied on Allah a true reliance, He would provide sustenance for you just as He does the birds. They fly out in the morning empty and return in the afternoon with full stomachs”. [Ahmed and Tirmidhi] Notice that the bird does not rest in its nest waiting for sustenance to arrive, but rather, it goes out to seek it while having trust in Allah.

This creates a powerful message that barakah is discovered by those who seek it, and that our faith in Allah is what places us within its reach. Another story, narrated by Anas [r], in which he said that a person asked Prophet Muhammed [s], “Should I tie my camel and have tawakkul, or should I leave her untied and have tawakkul?” Prophet Muhammed [s] replied, “Tie her and have tawakkul”. [Tirmidhi] This story reaffirms that faith in Allah often involves making decisions which we ourselves believe to be the best course of action and which require wisdom, focus, and strength on our own behalf.
